Bill Beaumont Textiles can trace its history
back over five generations of family ownership -
to 1888, in fact, when Joseph Hargreaves set up
a small weaving shed in Chorley, Lancashire, to
supply niche products to the local cotton
markets.
Subsequent growth and diversification resulted
in a move to merchant converting and, more
recently under the guidance of the current owner
Bill Beaumont, into domestic furnishings.
Bill Beaumont, great-great-grandson of the
firm's founder, earned a well deserved
reputation for honesty and integrity both on the
Rugby pitch as England Captain and on BBC TV's
Question of Sport programme, values which are
upheld in the business today.
